Far Cry 6 screenshots show possible destructible environments in the game

Screenshots have been linked online regarding a possible feature being reintroduced in Far Cry 6.

Ubisoft will bring a sixth chapter to its iconic first-person shooter, in what is one of the most anticipated new launches of the year.

The game stars Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Yara’s dictator, and “El Presidente” Anton Castillo – the man who firmly took possession of the island.

Far Cry protagonist Dani Rojas is among a host of activists and guerrillas seeking to stop Castillo’s regime and end its reign of terror.

Ubisoft narrative director Navid Khavari discussed the game at length when it premiered in May 2021 and insisted that gamers would be caught in the mind of someone trying to bring down a government empire.

From what we know so far, Rojas has to travel with several activist groups and take shelter in different locations on the island – similar to what we’ve seen with the award-winning Red Dead Redemption 2.

But that’s not all, as it appears that online leaks have uncovered a rollback feature that hasn’t been seen since Far Cry’s second install.

Destructible environments in Far Cry 6?

While there is no official confirmation regarding specific game features at this point, an image has been leaked on Reddit which appear to show rubble falling from an exploding building after a helicopter attempted to strike the side of it.

This is something Ubisoft hasn’t brought into the game in its most recent editions, but will produce something similar to what EA has with the Battlefield franchise.

This leaked screenshot from Reddit shows what appears to be blowing up in Far Cry 6.

While the screenshots look authentic, it’s unclear if this is part of the single-player campaign as a scene – or if it happens throughout the game.

Time will tell, however, but it’s something Far Cry fans will want to clear up through Ubisoft ahead of the game’s fall launch date.

Far Cry 6 will be released on October 7, 2021 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X / S, PC, PS4, Xbox One, Stadia, and Amazon Luna.
