New GTA 6 update is great news for Grand Theft Auto fans

A new GTA 6 the update is good news for Grand Theft Auto fans are eagerly awaiting the game and hoping it will be released sooner rather than later. This week a rumor circulated that GTA 6 was in development hell and its development was restarted in 2020. This is worrisome for several reasons. The first is the most obvious: Games that go through development hell often don’t do well on the other side. The second is less obvious, but it would suggest that the game is even further from the exit. Like, a long way from liberation. Having said that, if you’ve seen this rumor, you’ll be happy to hear that it’s fake news.

The rumor was reported by many, all of whom sourced Rockstar Magazine, a French media outlet with a reliable track record. However, the video that was sourced was poorly translated according to the source. Commenting on the rumor that circulated on their behalf, Rockstar Magazine’s Chris Klippel noted that he never said that GTA 6 was in development hell and was rebooted, but instead just speculated that. Could the falsified claim still be true? Sure, but it never was either. And at the time of publication, none of the usual sources claimed Grand Theft Auto VI is in development hell or that its development was restarted in 2020, so there is little reason to believe this speculation is accurate.

As you might expect, neither Rockstar Games – nor its parent company, Take-Two Interactive – have commented on all of this. We don’t expect this to change for a wide range of reasons, but if it does, we’ll make sure to update the story accordingly.
