NRG re-signs Clix and adds two-time FNCS champion Deyy

Top Fortnite players and Duo partners Clix and Deyy have joined NRG.

A few days ago, Fortnite superstar Cody “Clix” Conrod shockingly announced his departure from NRG after two years under the organization’s banner. Questions naturally flooded social media; where would Clix sign next? The 17-year-old pro gamer has one of Fortnite‘s most popular Twitch streams.

Clix’s exit from NRG seemed sudden but certainly had some question marks surrounding the move. He hasn’t changed his work email on Twitter, nor removed the huge NRG banner behind him. Clix quickly revealed more news to announce, which would happen during a Twitch stream on February 24.

In a storyline that surprised no one, Clix has officially re-signed with NRG. Additionally, the organization signed Clix’s Duo partner Dejsean “Deyy” Hew. A two-time Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) winner, Deyy is one of the best players in the world and finally has an organization to call upon.

NRG Clix & NRG Deyy ready to dominate

It’s not common to see a Fortnite Duo signed to the same organization. Some historical tandems that come to mind include FaZe Clan members Danny “Dubs” Walsh and Noam “Megga” Ackenine. We can add the talented NRG Clix and Deyy to the list.

The lead-up created the plot; Both NRG and FaZe Clan planted the seed, tweeting curious-eyed emojis. However, most expected to see Clix and Deyy announce NRG as their destination. This prediction unfolded via Clix’s Twitch stream and a video welcoming Deyy to NRG.

NRG’s executive producer – Grady Rains – appeared in the video. He and NRG member AussieAntics discussed what the organization could do to rally the community. In the end, the payees agreed: “Today is the day”.

Deyy the controller king

Many consider Deyy one of the best players in the world. Known for his aggression and piece control, Deyy uses every tool available to overpower his opponents. A running joke among the scene revolves around whether Deyy uses a Cronus Zen; a device that some players use to increase their aim assist.

The announcement video teased that idea, showing Grady Rains inspecting Deyy’s controller before starting the edit.

Clix x Deyy: History and future

Clix and Deyy started playing together in early 2021. The pair found immediate success, winning a DreamHack Open title. The Duo’s gameplay sets them apart from everyone else purely because of their ability to rack up kills. Clix and Deyy have consistently performed well over the past year, racking up several more DreamHack Open highs.

The duo are focused on the FNCS Semi-Finals this weekend. They hope to advance to the Grand Finals to compete for a share of US$3 million. While Deyy has won two previous FNCS titles, Clix is looking for his first.

Their style of play alone makes them a threat to every other team. Be sure to tune in this weekend as Clix and Deyy hope to qualify for the Chapter 3 Season 1 finale.
